I know this has been on the Buglist for long times... but I recently encountered this bug while playing a new FRUA game release:
One character had a hammer+1, another a dagger+1. Neither used either as a weapon, until set to Auto combat, at which point they would automatically equip them, throw them, and equip a bigger melee weapon with which to make hacks and slashes.
I noticed the bug crop up once I'd come into possession of both weapons. During a given combat in which all six of my characters and my one NPC who joined up would auto combat, the dagger and hammer would be thrown and be returned to me via a treasure event at the end of combat... but also net my party 115 experience points. When I only had the hammer+1 and it was being tossed off and returned after combat, I was recieving -no- extra experience. I tested this bug with a combat available in game versus the same opponents each time: the net experience was 1xp awarded at the end of every: combat where neither weapon was thrown/returned, combat where only the hammer+1 was thrown/returned, combat where only the dagger+1 was thrown/returned. The net experience was 116xp awarded at the end of every combat where both the hammer+1 and dagger+1 were thrown/returned.
This got me to thinking: making only mundane versions of these throwable weapons available in game is one workaround, but I couldn't really think of another solution short of recalibrating the xp given for magical items and/or reconfiguring the actual weapon types of the throwable weapons available, if that is even an option during item editing.
Hopefully someone among us has dealt with this bug or other designers have advise for this?

Thanks for the testing and description! This one was on the Big Buglist, but I could never duplicate it because I never tried it with two hurled weapons per combat.
Um, no idea how to fix it yet, though.
