Certainly in Tilverton, Curse of the Azure Bonds uses the combination of head picture and body picture.
Body2.dax, Head2.dax pictures.
9    0    4    1    225    126    SAVE <area2.HeadBlockId> = 4
14    0    4         PICTURE blockId: 0x04 <if area2_ptr.HeadBlockId == 0xFF ? <if blockId >= 0x78 ? <Load BIGPIC> : <Load PIC>> : <Load BODY>
9    0    255    1    225    126    SAVE <area2.HeadBlockId> = 255
Generally I don't know about Gold Box games. If they don't have separate head and body graphics they won't use them. If they do have them they probably will. Gold Box Explorer gives the answers there.

It finally occurred to me to put the original version of NWN-O into Goldbox Explorer. Gallant Prince is still missing the surrounding harbor. Bummer. But it has different combat icons and character portraits than version 2.2. More POR looking. It also has only 1 dungeon.

So should I use the original version 1.0 icons or the 2.2 icons?

Also I used Goldbox Explorer to solve 2 of the 3 events I couldn't trigger in version 2.2.  Longsaddle Under 12,1: A graveyard lies beyond this gate.. Longsaddle Under 13,11 and 13,12: A vast temple stretches away to the west. The image of a black hand on a field of red is displayed above the richly decorated altar.

Still can't get event 127 at 12,15 of Nightsedge. It is the last one.

I am not so sure that it does anything. I tried to trigger it but nothing happened. The numbering is odd, this great gap between event 30 and event 127. Especially when my spreadsheet shows that the table for the events only contains 32 elements.

All text events start at 1 and work their way up to 50 or 60. All combat events start at 127 and work their way down to 80 or 90. Or something like that. A 127 should always exist except at Neverwinter central which has no combat. If it goes off it probably goes off between 10AM and 1:30PM. Those times are hard to get to as the game generally starts at 1:30 PM and you have to train and get supplies to survive long enough to zap.

I'm fairly certain now that there are 4 times : dawn, day, dusk and night. There are three backdrops for outside in the woods. Grass - day,  grass - dusk and grass - night. Some combat events only go off in a 4 hour or less window.

I've tried 12,15 at 13:36, 13:50, 14:01, 15:04, 17:17, 18:24, 18:51, 19:36, 19:42, 20:48, 21:04, 21:21, 22:48, 23:05, 23:32,  00:07, 01:12, 02:45, 03:55, 04:01, 05:08, 06:01, 07:03, 07:17, 08:22, 08:35, 09:26, 10:08, 10:32 and 12:15. These are from two different attempts mixed together. The first attempt I just moved into the square. The second attempt I tried facing all four directions and looking. There is one combat in Trisk that goes off if only facing south, but it starts as a text event that becomes a combat event.

None of the fan maps show the encounter.

I don't see any clear table of combat events, hence it is not clear how combat is called.

All I know is that Neverwinter Woods east and west have no text events or combat events with text.  ECL2_021.bin is the east woods. Comparing the two files might clear up where the events are. I thought I had it when I noticed 82 kept repeating itself then 81 then 7f in sequences of 4. I thought the 82 was the event the 1 was the icon size and the CF, B5 and 6B where combat icons. But I couldn't find a combat with 1 + 8 + 9 creatures. I'll try again later.

On the other hand I am 99% sure that there are 4 times: dawn 3:30-7:29, day 7:30-15:29, dusk 15:30-19:29 and night 19:30-3:29. I have encounters going off moments after crossing these times when they didn't go off minutes earlier. Some encounters last for 12 hours, but others last only 4 hours. I think someone confused 15:30 with 5:30 PM instead of 3:30 PM. Never heard of dusk at 3:30.  ::)

I was checking ECL Decrypts B to see if it had anything other than text decryption. I found it had all the monster events though not time of day. I also found the random monster charts at 33814 of ECL 20-29. Each column is a different random encounter. The first number is the monster icon, the second the number, the third the second monster icon and the fourth the number. This is going to make getting the correct combat set-ups a lot easier.

For Neverwinter Woods Southeast it is from left to right 9 + 0 ogres(26), 7 scorpions(30) + 4 giant kampfults(79), 1 great vilstrak(81) + 7 tigers(31), 6 basilisks(33) + 1 salamander(95), 5 + 0 griffons(42), and 6 + 0 minotaurs (38).

Heres the monsters by number. Anything that says electrum is probably gold. Made a mistake when converting money.  :-[

I found the time schedules for combat events. Neverwinter Woods West or ECL20, has the time tables at 33131? In column G 218 equals day, 192 equals night, and 118 seems to be dusk or dawn.

In the east woods 181 is night and 207 is day and 107 is dusk (6:30). Southwest seem to be 187 night and 213 day. Not sure what 87, 61 and 35 are. In the southeast it is 187 night and 213 day and 19 for dusk or dawn.

Ecl printouts say that is correct. There are only four values in the table at 33,131:
33,398
33,472
33,498
33,560

BTW, Ishad, ECLs 18 and 19 (NW Woods NW and NE) don't show up in your NWN-O files. I managed to get the monsters, times and random monsters myself.

I've already gone line by line through my files for ECLs 0-9, all 6 Neverwinter Wood files, Trisk and Utheraal, not including extra ECL files of just text. Found a few missing texts, some misplaced commas, colons and semi-colons. And a few wrong words. Hope to get ECLs 10-17 and 24+ done tomorrow.

I can't tell you how much work I'm NOT going to have to do thanks to these files. I was going to have to clear each map of terrain and get each fight just to ascertain how many monsters were in each combat. So far I got 80-90% right depending on area. And I don't have to keep getting random encounters to find out what they are.

Resting presents a problem. All areas have you can't rest here messages: "Try camping somewhere else inside" in town or "Try camping somewhere else" in the wilds. Have always been able to rest in the wilds but get rousted in Neverwinter. Never tried any other towns yet.

It should be there, if you have the copy that I uploaded March 29, 2012, 03:04:50 AM. The data is all of 10,025 columns, so you will need to look towards the end of it.
"I can't tell you how much work I'm NOT going to have to do thanks to these files."
Simeon Pilgrim's EclDump.exe made the process far quicker and smoother than it would have been otherwise.

That is reasonable, the guards would want the party to rest in an inn, not in the streets.

The version of NWNEclDecryptsA.zip that you find there should have Ecls 1 thru 19.
