Exile from Norhearth Vale
« on: June 30, 2010, 04:54:37 PM »
I'm looking for a digital copy of this image by Larry Elmore.
Don't know the image? Actually, you do - it's the picture that the Kalithrea small pic and Tower 5 big pic are taken from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know whee the image originally appeared, but it is in TSR 8443 Art of the Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Game (the one with the colors on the cover, not the one with Parkinson image on the front).

Hmm - did you try looking through Larry's website?  :D

(Don't know which picture you mean, so I can't help much!)

Sounds like he means the FRUA Art Gallery. Though Tower 5 there has no people in it.
I checked the old edition downloads at the DnD site, did not see the book you referred to.

You may find that it has uploaded somewhere in electronic form. May be free too.
Edit:
A quick Google search showed quite a few possible downloads.

The original image is called "Exile for Norhearth Vale", but I don't know what it was used in. I believe it's circa 1985.

I have done a fairly exhaustive web search for both the image and any mod that might have used it, and not found anything about this one yet.

Thanks for the suggestions though. :) (I've long ago downloaded all fo the free content from WotC :D )

I'm striking out on this one too. I found one large copy online, but it was corrupted. It might be better to pick a new Town 5.  ;)
Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the straps.

I haven't found any copies online (unless you mean the "Art of Dungeons & Dragons Fantasy Game TSR 8443); so you're doing better than me.

Any idea what this image was used for?

It's probably the same one that I downloaded. :) I'm not even sure why the person who uploaded it even bothered going through the process to scan it since they did such a bad job...

Oh well. I just think it's time to get over it, and look for an alternative image.

OK, got it. Cleaned it up some, too ... was very, very faded.

Thanks for looking, Vix. This is the same quality that I have for it as well, I suspect that we both have the same pdf. :) I may or may not spend some time with this in Photoshop this weekend to see if I can clean it up more, but I might not; I might just follow nologgie's suggestion and look for a replacement. Elmore has other nice castles that would work for "Tower 5".
