Tutorials
« on: January 30, 2017, 05:07:23 PM »
I was just working on a new tutorial (for point pool systems) and wondering what else people need and/or want.

Here are teh two places with my tutorials:
http://manikus.reonis.com/Help/DesignTutorials.html
http://manikus.reonis.com/tutorials.html

I don't see any gaping holes, but then, I am the guy that writes the tutorials. I don't know what you don't know. ;)

Any feedback may lead directly to a tutorial being written. :D

That looks good, I guess it is about this tutorial, it might be useful http://ua.reonis.com/index.php?topic=3435.msg49091#msg49091

I wish I knew things like You do, I will keep trying to learn from tutorials and maybe I will actualy make a list of things I might need to be done in DC if I plan to play it my way :)

Not really....

The point of this poll is to ask what people need in addition to the tutorials I have written, of which there are dozens already.

I am mostly concerned with tutorials for designers, because it is the designer that sets the game play. So, to get games that you want to play (assuming that there are none right now, Milos) you need to learn to make them. :)

The tutorials are nicely done.  Wouldn't mind seeing more of the tutorials for all the different events in DC.  While a lot of them are easy to figure out if you're an FRUA designer, I imagine it must be difficult for people who have never used this kind of toolset to understand exactly how a Small Town event or a Quest Event works.

Excellent suggestion. I have a page that shows each event and says what it does, but not really how to use it.

I will start with those two events - Small Town and Quest. :)

Well, I wasn't pointing those two out as being difficult, so much as using them as an example.  I guess I wasn't clear about that. But, more tutorials couldn't hurt.

I got what you were saying, but I don't know which are difficult, so I thought I should just start with examples you listed. :D Not that I will do them all right away, but I really should do a tutorial for all of the events.
