The Slums in Unity3d
« on: June 03, 2014, 07:09:47 AM »
Hi all,

Just wanted to share something with you all. I'm a long-time CRPG hacker and have been playing Gold Box long enough to remember the unpacking when installing of floppy's. Whatever compression they were using back then took ages to install....

I've been teaching myself the Unity3d Engine recently and thought re-creating the slums would be fine and slightly odd thing to do.

The result of probably too many hours work, is a half decent walk-able map.

If you're so inclined to D/L the ~50meg...
Arrow keys to move around and 'f' to toggle "full window" mode.
Let me know if I've got a door or an arch in the wrong spot, and be sure to check out the old rope guild  ;)

Good to know there are still people out there who love these games as much as I do. I nerded out hard-core on the hacker pages!

Pretty cool! I liked the ceilings in the wood rooms.

Wow it is really awesome, and i like it a lot. I probably should start working with Unity, it seems like it can do a lot.
