HOS1: the Heroes of Shaladar
« on: January 30, 2009, 02:18:04 PM »
Is this mod hacked so that clerics get exceptional strength?

I am rolling a Half-Elf cleric and he came up with a strength of 18(25). (I tried to take a screenshot, but it didn't work.)

I used the "Realm" hack, so I'm not sure if that hack affects that class or not.

There is a new download link available.  I found a nasty bug involving the items that are assigned to the party.  Please delete that version and download the updated version, which can be found here:

Well, this answers my question. :) And my new question, which was starting weapon related. I had just thought, "Hey, maybe my mage really needs a short bow and a composite short bow..." :D J/L

I'll re-install and start afresh.

Manikus, if you're still interested in the question how the Realm hack handles classes and their abilities, you'd probably have more luck in asking it again on the mailing list since I don't think Ray Dyer joined us here yet.

Too late. :) I already figured it out by looking through the game00 and it's documentation. :)

I mostly was just commenting on Heroes of Shaladar. :)

I took many peoples advice and have started to play a couple of "non-hacked" designs first to make sure my install of FRUA was working correctly, before moving on to the hacked designs.  But I am anxious to start playing hacked designs, like this HOS1 that you have just completed, so I want to make the jump to running hacked designs through UAShell, so I have a question.  Does UAShell require FRUA to be updated to version 1.2, or will it also work with version 1.0?

Also a big congrats to completing HOS1, I can't wait to see and play it.
Willing to work for a better FRUA community and MORE MODS!

Yes, update to 1.2, first.

Do you still need someone to send the 1.2 update to you?

Running hacked adventures through UAShell is very simple.  Just select APPLY, then pick the design directory.  UAShell does all the work for you, providing it's been installed correctly.
