Making Area Maps

What tools do you use to make the area maps for iceblink?

I made a tile map maker that I use. I'll post it here when I get home from work. Karl just hand drew his in GIMP with a drawing tablet. Dorateen used GIMP as well.

Here is the TileMapper program I made as one way to quickly make IB maps. Updated with all the art assets that I have used to date.

Thought I would share a cool map that one of the newer community members (Skitnik) put together:



Here are his comments:
"No portraits today, but I wanted to share a a map that I done to better understand the Magic Candle - like perspective (Lurking grue did a good research on what can be done on a square grid). Working without perspective is more tricky than expected."

"For this particular map, I used calligraphy brushes with ink and acrylics, much like chinese traditional painting."
