The importance of movement
« on: September 17, 2009, 12:41:52 AM »
The elven mage/thief opined with quick smugness to the dwarven fighter/thief, "I don't have to outrun the bullette, I only have to outrun you!"

For the elf, a most inopportune time to witness the blurring effect boots of speed can produce when applied to stubby little legs. A forlorn expression of assured deliverance denied still marred face as the monster pounced.
Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the straps.

...and 2 out of 3 found a happy ending!

Too bad the elf didn't just bite the bullet earlier and pickpocket those boots off his companion when he was engaged in some other dwarfin pasttime.  That is what a thief's companions are for, aren't they?  For holding the stuff the rogue hasn't a use for yet?
