Two New Daniel Martin Modules?
« on: March 09, 2011, 04:24:43 PM »
The following two modules have shown up in the New Files section, but not on the module list:

Dan Fin - Deeds of a Devil
Dan Fin - Dark Conspiracy

Thanks for pointing this out! I have a growing backlog of unplayed modules, which I guess I'll get to play when DC v1.0 is done. Kinda like dessert!
Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the straps.

Are they DC modules then? It doesn't say in the description.

I'll post them to the module list sometime in the next few days. Work is overbearingly busy right now and I'm most definitely looking forward to a break sometime this weekend.

The readme of "Deeds of a Devil" says it's currently German language only (but the base used is 1.2), a translation is announced (can we expect another masterwork like "The Sect"?  ;) ).

Hey, you and me could play the German version and find out! ;)

I'll probably play the German version as well, just to see how it goes. I'll probably miss a lot, but it might make it more challenging.  :D

Hey everyone,
I am the designer of the modules.  Dark Conspiracy was my first longer design; if you want to choose between the two and able to understand german i would suggest to try out "Deeds of a Devil", which took me 8 years to finish. I tried to recreate the old Goldbox-Feel-of-play, because im still a huge fan of the Krynn triology, FR Quadrology and the SF Du. Having played P&P RPGs for over 10 years  (though i quit some years ago) i also used adventures designed by me to be included in the Campaign. So - let me hear what you think if you try it out :).
Best,
Daniel

Welcome aboard, DrDan!  :)

I may find some time to check it out in a week or so. I assume it's not a hacked module but uses lots of custom graphics from the FRUA archives, right?

Welcome Dr Dan!

I played Dark Conspiracy Thursday. I think it could have benefitted from playtesting, and "T" was a real let-down, but overall, I enjoyed it. The storylines are good, and it has the Gold Box feel. If you ever decide to update it, I'd be happy to playtest for you. Thanks for sharing it!

My German language skills were poor 30 years ago, and have declined since, but I started "Deeds of a Devil" last night. I think I have an idea of what's going on, but I'm probably wrong. I'm pretty sure some of my choices were.   ;D In any case, my party has reached 5th-6th level and is operating out of Crystalsand. I hope you convert this one to English, so I can play it again to see where and how badly I messed up.  :D

Sounds cool. May even give me an excuse to learn German. Heck, I can even translate that Ravenloft module I was working on. Der Mist Von Ravenloft...has a great ring to it. Wait, why are Olivier and Ben laughing at me?

I was going to suggest using Bing, but this is how it translated your game title :

The crap from Ravenloft

I don't think it's very accurate.  ;D

EDIT: It translates it as:  Die Nebel von Ravenloft  :P

Yup, you've discovered the reason Sierra Mist will never make it in the Germanophone market. ;) Almost as much fun as guys who feel ashamed of themselves in Spanish class after messing up, and say they are 'embarazado' (pregnant).

I was kidding, I was hoping this would hit before any American who actually knows anything commented. Oh well. Consider it a gift, not a Gift :)
