I had really intended to finish the New 52 Wonder Woman and Batgirl icons this weekend, but instead found some 3D packages that had been stashed away on my computer that I had never been able to get to work. I was going to give them one last try, and well, they all worked. Here is what may turn out to be the biggest icon for Hero Craft. And yes, I know that he is probably way, way smaller than he should be. ;)

I just wonder how you calculate the stats for such a character...  :o

I almost forgot: Of course, great icon!  ;D

In games that I've played, his stats are often listed with the infinity symbol. Yet, somehow teh Fantastic Four and/or Avengers can defeat him...

I really like the look of Galactus, so am trying to find other things to use him in - thinking of maybe doing a picture of Galactus battling Cthulhu or Unicron.

This is the first in a set of Golden Age Hero Icons.

The first set is of combat icons for Nedor/Pines heroes:

Captain Future
Pyroman
Miss Masque

I made the Golden Age Hero Icons in 2 sizes: 96x96 for increased detail and 48x48 for use with default Hero Craft.

You can also use the double-size icons when Super Heros are "Enlarged" for any reason.

I read in the other thread that you were concerned concerning the 48x48 icons, but I think they look quite good!

I think both sizes look good. :D Thanks, Nol.

The concern isn't so much that the smaller sizes look bad, it's that when you use 102x768, they appear to be about half-sized compared to 640x480. I will be working on a Proof of Concept demo to see how this looks. The main issue will be combat walls and/or combat wildernesses that look appropriate.

Galactus is huge, despite his tininess!  :D

When I was making this icon, I found size references from 15 feet to several miles. So, I picked a height that seemed to be about how he looked in a couple of comics where I had seen him. ;)

Hmm - vague statistics like that can help to cover all of the artists' tracks!  :D  But anyway, drawing him miles high would certainly make a difficult job (drawing) even harder!  (So, who is bigger - your Galactus or your Cthulhu?)

regarding the size of glalactus/cthulu -- I have seen plenty of references with apocalypse where he was able to change his size almost at will -- so you may be right with "any" size.

make em look intimidating, and the exact size won't matter as much ;)

The official Marvel website lists Galactus height as 28' 9". But he grows and shrinks as he devours and releases energy, and many artists draw him at double his official height, so your 60' tall icon seems about right.

I have seen that number in several places. Now I know where they got it. :D Thanks.
