The Iron Man 3 trailer looks pretty good. Downplays the comedy elements quite a bit - I expected the opposite from a Shane Black film.

Wow, that is quite dramatic.  IM2 had only a few moments of true suspense, where Tony Stark actually seemed vulnerable.  I think vulnerability is a key to the character who was billed as The Invincible Iron Man in his classic silver age.  Considering his bad heart, and constant threats of armor breakdowns and rundowns, the title always had an ironic ring to it.  That trailer has made me more eager to see the movie.

One of my favs, Punisher http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZZZBffx6oA

Not one of my favs, overall, but Thomas Jane's fight with "the Russian" is one of the all-time great movie fights.

And we finally get to see the Mandarin, who is played by Ben Kingsley, Hollywood's go-to guy for playing a person of vaguely foreign, unspecified ethnicity.

Indian, Iranian, Chinese, Mongolian... I guess there aren't any Chinese American actors in Hollywood looking for work... But at least Ben Kingsley is a good actor...

I read that Iron Man 3 won't delve into Tony Stark's alcoholism, which is probably for the best - such storylines are more satisfying and believable when they take a decade to develop.

Thanks for the link to the trailer, I enjoyed it immensely.

I didn't actualy spoke about movie which i didn't watched, instead I was refering to Punisher comic I used to read as younger. Maybe there is lot of violence in punisher and some things I don't like but still he has a nice story and art so he is still one of my favorites. Maybe reminds a bit of Judge Dredd whom I also like but I didn't actualy read much of it :D

Anyway I guess Judge Dredd is a cool character too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43-BefmjMFg
And :D new version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-eI5oLlIeY&feature=related

That WAS an awesome fight.  Had a hell of a lot more impact than the there's-absolutely-no-need-to-fear-for-his-safety "climax" of the movie.

While I think that each of the Punisher movies has had a few nice elements, none has been a particulalry good movie, overall.

IMO, they've all thought too small.  They make the character little more than Charles Bronson wearing a skull shirt.  Beyond a few flourishes, they've been mere vigilante vendetta movies.

He ought to be battling more than a stereotypical crime family.  In the movies, he ought to be battling a James Bond-style supervillain (the big ones, like Blofeld or Goldfinger) with equally stylish henchmen, like Jaws and Oddjob.  A lone wolf vigilante versus a Spectre-type organization with all their gadgets and grandiose schemes would be much more interesting than another Death Wish sequel.

In the comics, He ought to stay in the larger Marvel Universe with supervillains to pick off.  His first appearance was in Spider-man, and that's where his character is most interesting.  He can represent the anguish of a regular joe in a world where the supervillains prey on normal human beings.

The main problem that Punisher always had was that he was good at what he did.  And what he did was actually succeed in killing off his rogues gallery.  Without building up a cast of characters to go up against that readers would recognize, it was hard making his stories interesting.  I mean, did they even try to mine the comics for any characters to be the bad guys in his movies or did they just make stuff up?

Throwing him into the larger Marvel Universe kinda goes up against that same problem:  Does he suddenly become sucky at his game and the supervillains he hunts get away all the time?  Or does he start actually picking off and killing these supervillains?

Here is an adventure I saw and liked few years ago and there was a version with 2e rules but I think later it got converted for 3e and I think discontinued to be 2e. So here it is, I think it would be nice to have something like it in DC :)
