Are the images all the same dimensions?
Are the occassions where the error is concerning similar in that they are all for walls in the same slot, as in base, door or overlay? If so, is it a case where they are always in a slot where at least one other slot is being used, i.e. all are walls with overlays, etc.

Certainly. I only thought it was worth mentioning that I made it somehow...  ;)

I have not yet found a pattern.
I found so far that walls in slots 2, 14, 15, 17, 21, 23, 29, 45, 63 all have problems when the most distant wall is depicted, but maybe this is only accidental - my guess is that it has something to do with how the most distant walls are displayed together with neighbouring walls (maybe a 5 vs 7 most distant walls problem?). It seems that doors in the same slots are not affected.
Sometimes the most distant wall in the center of the 3D view is affected, but for some slots the wall is displayed correctly in the center of the 3D view, but not on the left side.

Interestingly, sometimes it seems the upper left 16x19 pixel of Slot A is shown instead of the correct slot as I wrote below, but sometimes I also see just magenta coloured walls (indicating that the frames of the wall files are shown).
As far as I can tell I use only walls of type 5.

I would be interested to know if you have similar issues in your designs when using the same engine version...


While it may be unwise to mention another issue in the same thread: Is the config file read automatically? I ask because I changed the custom text colour in the config.txt file inside the design folder, but it does not seem to have an effect.

Yes.  And it must be in the 'Data' sub-folder.  The engine
will complain if it is not found. 

An easy way to see if your file is being found is to rename
it to something else and see if the engine complains of
its absence.

Thanks Paul! I made another mistake (confusing red/green/blue values with hue/saturation/luminance values  ::)  :-[ ), but I did not find it before being sure that the config file was indeed read.

Dinonykos, if you want to do a kind of not-so-mini-mod that shows the art glitches and email it to me, I would be happy to look it over. :) Not-so-mini means to include the graphics in question.

While you update the web page:

I noted an extra 'w' in the 'rise' page:

 the player must help two martens two protect a tribe of insectoids.

In fact, the entire word would best be left out.

I moved the starting location to a level where you can see most of the graphic errors I found.

Just in case you wanted to start the game from the beginning, you would have to move the starting point to Level 50, Square 18,14 - but then you would have to go through a long introduction... :D

I've downloaded it and will take a look tonight. :) Hopefully I can spot something, even if it is just a method to the madness.

In my Hovos design, there is a cell on one fo the levels that has a weird rgraphics glitch. I've tried everything to get rid ot it, everything short of deleting the level and starting over. It doesn't matter what walls I use, I get an error, but just int he one cell. I think it might be related to weirdness in the level dat file since this design start in version .914 and has been updated many times... Let's hope we are not seeing another one of those.

Well, I imported one level from a 0.914 design (level 49/50, Helmettiger Palace), but the other one (40) is original. I did not import the design.
The errors are occurring on all levels, but in level 49/50 you rarely see them since the rooms are not long/deep enough (meaning, the most distant walls are rarely shown).

But, as written above, this occurs only in the newest DC version. I started the design with an older DC version (2.39) several times, and the errors are not occurring.
