That is correct.  Such a function could be easily implemented
if someone were to convince me that it would be put to good use.

A) If you implement it, I will use it in a DC mod that I'm working on.
B) If you do not implement it, then I will require the player to use a pre-generated party in which I know what the names of the characters literally are.

Are you using Daz3D Milos?

If not, have you seen the Daz Dragons? You can if you search their online catalog; (which you've likely already done if you use Daz, but it changes, and things go on sale; or become free for a time).



I just searched it today, and unfortunately none of the products I was thinking of are free at the moment, but they have been before, and could become so again.

They have one bundle that is free right now... but I can't tell if it includes the actual dragon model.

I have all set and now it is time to think about town adventuring. For now I have divided town into green zone (where is safe and everything works for new characters), yellow zone (I have worked on this but there are some things to be done and it is not safe because there are rogues and some dangers, but not very dangerous), red zone (this is part of the town that I have mapped but not worked on and for now it will be in ruins and more dnagerous and I hope that I will finish it during playing).

Also I might need some help with this character walls as I have idea for characters to be on the street while not talked to and after that to move them maybe on other location, maybe as quest event and when moved that will be stage 2 for quest. Anyway will have to think about it...

Here are 3 portraits of small dragon (need to add background only) and with that I will continue to work on it tomorrow. Would like to have something better till new year but I hope I might have something till next sunday.

A number of reasons come to mind...  but can one really prove that people will use it?

   • Accurate avatars:
            It could allow for updating the equipped weapon and shield; bow/crossbow, or sling
            The generic Dead PC might be substituted for a dead version of the specific PC
            Disintegrated PCs might leave an ash pile as remains
   
   • Spell effects:
            It might allow for polymorphing druids, mages, lycanthropes, and vampires to be shown in animal form
            It might also allow for 'enlarged' PCs to really appear so; the same with Invisibility, Blur, Fire Shield, and Mirror Image
   
   • Narrative effects:
            It might enable story related avatar changes; like an avatar that changes in immediate circumstance, or over the
            course of the adventure.

stupid question: How hard would it be to make an FC.EXE and include it with UASHELL? Rename Nol's proggie and stick it in there so DOSBOX thinks it's another DOS executable? Then UASHELL would run the way it did in the Xtreme days of Pogs and grunge.

To summarize, there is no GPDL function which can change a character's icon and the logic block only takes literal strings from a text field "CharName=2" or"Hercules=3" but not $GET_CHAR_NAME(0) + "=2".
