Hero Craft - Icons
« on: September 08, 2010, 10:49:23 PM »
Here's a thread for posting Hero Craft Combat Icons.

I'll get it started with Wolverine, Black Widow, and Captain America.

Very nice, Nol. :) Whatever I end up doing with this (adventure creation-wise) Captain America will be involved. :D

Here are some of mine - some of which are created by me, some of which are grabbed from game's graphics found on the web. I think you'll be able to tell which is which. :D

Nice. Mister Fantastic, however, has the problem that he fills only have of the icon in the normal position. That can be confusing, I think...

What about Spidey's webbing? :D

Yeah, Mr. Fantastic is problematic as is, but there is another version in the works that is a normal 1x1 icon. :) I should have that done when I have the Human Torch done. I may tweak the Thing (see below) a bit too and rerelease. It's hard to show his texture on such a small scale. :)

Spierman's webbing is an item icon - like a hammer or dagger is for normal DC. :D

Here are the last of the icon's I have ready now, and 3 are from a game. I'm not too happy with this art style, but has to be at least some bad guys... ;)

Very nice icons, again.

I may be pedantic :D, but similar to Mr Fantastic, Batgirl fills two squares, of which only one is used in the normal position. This is not only confusing, it is also a disadvantage, since she can be attacked from 10 positions instead of 8...  ;)

Yeah, I know it's bad to leave blank space, but Batgirl loves showing off her high kicks.

She does know more than one combat move.

Been a while since I posted in this thread, but I'm back!

Recolors and resizes from sprite sheets I found online. :D

I read a lot of books, most in the New 52 right now, so I wanted to do some icons for those characters. Here is the first batch. Largely recolors and resizes, but with some large amount of change put into some (like Catwoman).

I went through all of the SHUA icons and converted them for use in Hero Craft some time ago - well, I did it again using a program called RotSprite which uses a much better algorhythm than any of the paint programs I use. It uses aliasing, so no messy clean-up after resizing and they look much better than changing pixel size.

Now let me look around here... I must have made some Hero Craft icons in the last 5 years...

In the Hero Craft Hub thread, under "icons" in the first post is a link to a thread showing some of your icons. ;)

Glad you like these. :D Batgirl, Wonder Woman and Green Arrow are still in the works. The Flash doeesn't need a new paint job, so he'll be in there too. :D Actually same probably goes for Green Lantern.
