What do you think? Okay as is or needs more to make it interesting?

Mind you, I've only gotten so far. I think it is plenty with the random fights. And still finding the "elegantly furnished bedroom" was a nice touch. But yes, I've been trying to just make it to the next set of stairs to keep going without much exploration, so I don't think extra side content is needed.

That bedroom is actually lifted straight from CotAB. I just changed the colour of the drapes to show that he'd redecorated since the red wizard lived there. :)

Made it to the top of the tower. The battle just before the big fight was actually pretty tough. Then the climactic showdown was fun, although our Paladin was caught in a hold spell and went down. He probably would have been able to train, if he had survived. Meanwhile, back in town the rest of us are looking forward to that much deserved level up!

Never mind, more experience for the rest of them.

One of the things I wanted most was memorable fights, I think that's very important. That was hopefully one of them. How are you finding the difficulty level? I wanted it to be tough but not to the point that it's frustrating to play.

You've done the main story of chapter one now, that was the end boss fight. You've still got that extra bit I told you about though and then the smaller but more intricate chapter two. I think you'll like chapter two. :)

The fights that made an impression on me were the large scale battles, outnumbered by dozens of enemies. There were some memorable smaller battles too, against dangerous opponents. I would characterize the level of difficulty so far as challenging, because first level characters have fewer tools at their disposal. So positioning is very important as is the timely use of sleep or cleric spells. And a little bit of luck.

Looking forward to the next part.

You should notice a fairly big jump in your characters now with leveling up, the stuff from the last fight and the reward.

You've got a big game changing decision coming up after you leave. If you want to know which option to take that will give you a major choice a bit later after that pm me, or you can just make your own choice and see what happens.

Made it to Tilverton with our reluctant escort. Was able to get the paladin trained, and I became a 3rd level fighter as well. Running low on funds right now, so I will explore the town and see what opportunities turn up.

Some fun dialogue along the way.

It gets funner. :)

You're about to get the best fight, tis very awesome.

You might be close to getting a big decision that will effect the rest of the story in a huge way. Whether you get the choice to take the semi-hidden path depends on what you said at the standing stone. What option did you pick?

If you do get the choice you might want to keep a save file just before that so you can do both paths.

I went along with them at the standing stone, was not in a position to refuse. I did so reluctantly, so I don't know if the specific response I gave will make a difference. I'll roll with whatever happens, and deal with the consequences.

Yea, each of the five options has a different outcome, although three are similar. I think you'll get the choice judging by what you just said. You'll soon find out.

I juggled around some equipment, after neglecting to divide up the necromancer's treasure. That allowed me to sell items to net more platinum. So I was able to train the thief and the cleric. Did I miss a magic-user trainer? I was hoping the lady in the shop would, unless I missed it. As you must know, I enjoy having separate trainers for individual classes, that's great.

Fought and won the battle in the alley, but took some casualties. I'm not ready to spend the amount to carry those losses, so I will go back and fight that one. Now I will go to meet the Sage Filani. I'm enjoying the memories coming back from CotAB.

Also, the poster about the special weapon at the tavern, that was amusing.

As long as you weren't killed you can rest at the inn.

No you didn't miss where mages can train, there is a place but you haven't been there yet.

Did you notice the subtle joke in the ally? :)

That wasn't the awesome fight I was talking about btw.

Edit:
If you sell stuff at the general store rather than the magic shop you get twice as much money. ;)

Finally made it through the gauntlet and into the mage guild. Was able to level our party's wizard at last. (Now he just needs to rest, in order to memorize that new spell.)

I'm preparing for the sequence after the shop.

Oh, I was curious about the trap door that was small enough for a Halfling? I have a Halfling in the party, although he was not highlighted when I triggered the message. Anything there by any chance? Could have been a nice moment for a chain, "if specific race is in party."

Yes. :)

If you have a halfling you just need to take another step. ;)

You'll be glad you did take a halfling.

Edit:
You can rest in the study, where you trained. Filani should have told you that.

Re-edit:
Doh! I was getting confused with the other path. :-[ You can't rest yet. It would make the coming fights far too easy.

I found the Halfling loot, that was a nice windfall and really helped.

When I get the three assignments from the guy back at the temple, is that also part of this adventure, or are these quests that will happen in the next module? I think I finished Tilverton, and I did get the message that indicates the end of Chapter 2.
