Why are new characters so old?
« on: October 26, 2012, 01:10:53 PM »
All new human characters, except magic-users who are even older, start out as 26-29 years old. That's 10 years older than in the Gold Box games.
Is this normal in FRUA?

Yes it is.

Normal aging doesn't occur, so a 1st level who avoids haste & speed can be the same age at 40th level.  Might as well start them out when their car insurance is cheaper, I suppose.

The bytes to edit this are listed in CKITFORM.txt, and designers occasionally change them.
Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the straps.
