ProphetSword, the thieves look good. :)
Mechanuat, thanks for sharing that, I usually just dive in and change pixels, but I will have to give your technique a try.

Is it an option to not include a layer?  I mean does it allow a transparent background, instead of a scene?  If not, perhaps one scene can be replaced with a blank png file.  This could allow for DC pictures that let the DC (FPP) map location show behind them; or in the very least, allow for custom backdrops via Photoshop, or portrait overlays on top of the DC UI.  Also for composites of more than one person in the image.

No transparent background, as far as I'm aware.  You can use a plain color.  That's about it.

I suppose good key color like hot pink or lime green might work to isolate it from the figure, and remove it in Photoshop.

Doing those colors don't seem easily possible, given that you have three color sliders and I can't seem to make a lime green or hot pink show up, even when I turn the saturation all the way up.

Would it be better if all the portraits were done with black backgrounds, like this:

Black would work if none of the character parts has a black outline.  Try 255 red, 0 green, 255 blue, on the color slider... That gives an uncommon magenta color.

If you can see the backdrop images, and load one into Elements, perhaps you can replace that backdrop with png file that is entirely transparent. Then choose that one for the backdrop.

I like the female fighters. :)

I think a black background would work fine.

Are you keeping the backdrops as part of the image to put into DC or do you want to have them all consistently black? I can do either. Just let me know.

Black backgrounds work fine, but a pink one would also work.  Using the color: #ff00c8 , or rgb( 255,0,200 );

As for the non-dark elves, I like them, too. In fact, I think some of these will make their way into the default DC package. Actually, I have beeen looking to replace all of the PC portraits, so should you be so inspired... ;)
Aha... And what about the PC combat icons? :)
