Final group... (By the way, these forums don't allow me to leave this area blank.  Otherwise, I would just post the images).

These walls are great! I think they fit particularly well with Uatu's style thanks to the early-VGA style! I think it is good that the walls are not showing too many details, by  the way.
It would be great to have a few fitting floors/ceilings, do you intend to do this?

I'm not sure how easy that would be, given that the floors and ceilings in my game are rendered in the same way as the walls.  In fact, that's just the cave wall texture repeated to make the floor and the ceiling.

I might be able to figure something out.

Okay, here's the best I could do with limited time.  Maybe someone else can take this and make it into a background that DC can use.

That's what I figured.  I'll be doing more walls in the future, so I'll be sure to share more when I have enough to share.  In the meantime, enjoy.  And if anyone uses these in a design or alters them in a cool way, be sure to share screenshots or altered versions or whatever.

I have modified four of the walls, and attached them to this post. Dan's wallmaker is very good, but it doesn't allow for non-flat walls (and how could it really?) So I modified four of them to look more 3Dish - you'll see what I mean.

I absolutely love the early 90s VGA dungeon crawler look of these walls.
Great job!

Yep.  I see what you mean.  Great job.

Now if I could just figure out why the WallGen program screwed up some of the straight lines (which is what prompted me to post the original tiles) on the doors and bars, we might actually get them looking as they should.

Thanks.  If they look like 90s VGA dungeon crawler walls to you, then I have accomplished my mission.  ;)

I know the answer to that, too. ;D It's because you started with a square texture and went to a rectangular shape. If you maintain the same perspective ratio, this won't happen. This comes from converting hundreds of textures. :D

If anyone knows the answer, it's you.  :)

Honestly, though, I didn't know that you couldn't use square files.  So, if someone wants to "doctor them up" so that they fit better, go for it.  That's why I provided the original textures I created.

You can use square textures, it just messes up some diagonal lines. Also, if you are using one of the square viewport layouts, you know, to state teh obvious.

I've also noticed that sometimes jpg look sloppy, and you can't tell until you try, which means it is likely the compression in the particular file.
Giant textures also do weird things - I'm talking large at more than 2000 on a side. Some details disappear, others don't.
