Fatal Exception Error Crash
« on: May 09, 2016, 08:35:57 PM »
Hello. I am new to Dungeon Craft and FRUA in general. I was hand-placing some combats on one of my maps and I suddenly get a fatal error crash "0x000ab451". Funny thing is, this will only happen after the third combat, no matter the order I did them in. It also occasionally waits to occur until when I rest. I am using the latest version. Please help.

Is this crash in the design itself, or is it the toolset that is crashing?

Given that it sometimes waits until rest, I think it must be a crash in the engine not the editor.

If you can, follow these instructions and post a "mini-mod" version of your module for Paul to look at: http://ua.reonis.com/index.php?topic=2588.0

If you are having trouble understanding what you need to do, let us know.

I think it's a crash in the design as the editor itself does not close out. It literally just comes up with this message through the screen and it closes the design when I click OK.

Here is what I recommend doing:

1) create a new design and title it something like "EventCrash.dsn" (this is important because I need something that uses the default resources which you will understand why in a bit)
2) on one level (transfer module can transfer between two spots on the same level). Minimalism is key - do just what it takes to show the bug.
3) make sure and "play" the design from the start showing this bug happening.
4) end the design, close the engine.
5) in the Data folder, change the last "Recordxxx.log" file to "Playfile.log" and delete the rest of the Recordxxx.log files. Delete all .txt files EXCEPT config.txt
6) create a new folder in the EventCrash.dsn folder named the same (EventCrash.dsn for example)
7) copy Data and Saves folders, and UAFWinErr.txt files into the empty EventCrash.dsn subfolder.
make a zip of the subfolder version of your design and post it here.
