Anyone here ever played Forgotten World? ForgottenWorld.com

Its down right now, but I tracked down the owner, and he said it will be coming back online soon.

I also played for a while.

In fact, several years ago, I was working with them on some quests to add to their server.  But, somewhere along the way they stopped answering emails, and the whole thing fizzled.

I just took a bit more serious look, and it sounds interesting. I might try it if it works, btw is that Ad&d game?

I played for a bit back when it was operating, as well. It was fun when you played with others, but just running around solo got a bit boring for me.

Wow, this is great! I'll reference this if/when the site is back on line.

The owner of the site mentioned to me that he was in negotiation with the buyer but that fell through and he hasn't bothered to bring it back. However, he did mentioned he plans on re-hosting but just hasn't gotten around to it.

Is it expensive to host a site like this or is it just time consuming?

I think the key for a niche MMO like this would be to have regularly timed play sessions where you encourage players to log in at the same time.

Several of us did just that. Also, there were server hosted events where you could win crystals.

I think i spent more time playing Mafia (Werewolf by another name) on the forums. lol

Was there any truth to the rumor that the Forgotten World people had a copy of the original NWN source code? That would be something worth preserving!
