Free or inexpensive GFX - for commercial GB clones
« on: May 31, 2014, 06:38:57 AM »
Greets to FRUA, DC, etc. maestros.

Anyone knows if free or inexpensive GFX (pictures/sprites) for planned commercial GB "clones" can anywhere be found? Perhaps in this forum or have you any other suggestion?

I am looking for pictures, possibly called sprites in IT gaming terminology of this type.
Both the tiny battle view and large portrait view -seen when normally wandering- sprites would be fine, with some animation phases if possible.
Also static terrain thingies like walls, houses, shops would come in handy.
I am hoping for at least up-to-date FRUA modules' GFX quality.
Even original GB art would suffice, but possibly they're not in Pub.Domain.

Or do you think GB-like games today would find a total niche market, which would sell poorly - even on "pocket device" market?  :(

Many thanx for any enlightenment.

If you're looking for "sprites," the battlers from RPG Maker might come in handy.  A lot of the battlers from the RPG Maker DLCs can be used outside of RPG Maker, and Humble Bundle currently has a ton of these on sale for a very cheap price.  So, you might look into that.

Here's an example of what a battler looks like:
