Another piece of GH, this time cartoon walktrough to village of Hommlet http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/village-hommlet I found it here http://greyhawkery.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-few-greyhawk-things.html

Btw today my group play 4th session of Greyhawk Ruins and my plan is to finish it soon and to get back to DC and my work outside as soon nicer weather will start :/. They explored 3 levels of Zagyg's tower and surprisingly did very good but things now are starting to be harder :) Anyway I wish I could start GH DC mod, but for now it will have to wait.

And an interesting song done by Bards of Greyhawk called Rogahn and Zelligar https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppr9Gue8v40

John Wick: Chapter 2 knows how to film hand-to-hand combats.  The vomit inducing (in Chinese audiences) Bourne shaky-cam & ultra-quick-cuts style that has been too in vogue is hopefully dying away.

Logan is a good movie, tho long and bleakly dark.  Be aware that the hard "R" rating is deserved, mostly for butchery violence, plenty of f-bombs, and a teeny bit of nudity.  Not a kid movie.

Hey Hans :)  I am curious if the look and feel of the film, apparently done with a purposeful eye towards elevating a comic book movie to a graphic novel movie, works as the creators desired?  'Watchmen' was as close to the concept as I've personally experienced, and 'Deadpool' was just too spot-on and humourous for me to find it 'dark'...  Is this the example then?  Curious what you thought.

I have no idea how happy or unhappy the comic creators, or their fans, might be with this movie, as I have never read or seen the "Old Man Logan" graphic novel upon which this is said to be based.

Speaking then, just in terms of the film, some elements seemed a little gratuitous, or at least gratuitously over-used, but I also recognize that there was a true, serious attempt to set a very different tone from the X-men movies, including the previous two Wolverine solo outings.  In some ways that tone could be considered neo-nior-ish (not in the visual, graphical sense of Sin City, but thematically, and in storytelling content).

IMO, Watchmen is a masterpiece, while Logan is not.  That is, I do consider it a good film, but one that fails to reach the heights (or depths?) of drama that I believe the filmmakers were shooting for (at least failing to hit those targets consistently).  I don't know how much this might be a reflection on the source material, however...

IMO...

Over the years, I've come to understand that your view is uniquely clear and concise and something that serves as a proper litmus for my own way of thinking.

Thanks for this review - it does help me to decide whether the film is worth my while  :)  It sounds like Logan isn't exactly what I enjoyed about Watchmen, though the fact that it is trying to do something uniquely different (just as Deadpool did) is enough to whet my appetite.  Also, I fear this might be the last of Jackman's Wolverine, so this is also impetus for me to view.  Again, thanks for this and your other reviews.  I've come to rely on yours and Nol's opinions (and Nologgie's :D) on what is worth putting energy into.

Thanks for the compliments!  8)  I do hope you take my opinions with a grain of salt, tho, as I have on occasion read some of my own, older posts and have then said to myself: "wrong."   :P

Excellent!

EDIT: Have you considered him doing the art for you?  ;) Seriously, seeing this made me think again that a design in a sketch-like or child's-drawing look would be interesting if it was done with consistency. The thing is that it would probably be not less effort than any other style.
