PREVIEW - The great escape
« on: May 12, 2012, 12:25:25 PM »
Well,

I was planning to create this design on DC, but making version 1.0 might still take some time, so I decided not to wait untill my enthusiasm will die and release it on FRUA.

PLOT:It's a strongly hacked design. The adventure will take place in the Underdark and must be played with two pre-generated characters, who are actually brothers. There will also be a few NPCs. Despite a lot of combats, it'll not be hack and slash module, or so I hope. The plot will be somewhat deeper, with a lot of dialogues, characters differences and few turning points. Well, that's the plan at least:)

I hope the release will be around the end of June.

Some art preview. You are free to use them (actually most of them are not truly my creation)
sprite and icon of a fire giant
one of the main PCs
purple worm icon

Sounds terrific!  I'll be looking forward to it!

Of the art, all looks great, except maybe the pic is a little too dark.  Granted, I know it's supposed to be a Drow in the dark, plus I'm looking at it on a screen that hasn't fully heated up, and there's some afternoon light bouncing around in the room...  Still, how does it look to everyone else...?

MAELD33.PCX is pretty dark, and I'm viewing it on my laptop. I'm not sure I could see it on my CRT monitor at home. The sprites and icons look bright enough.

I'm looking forward to playing this, merikallio!
Some days it just doesn't pay to gnaw through the straps.

Bah!

You two just do not have the proper eyesight to see and appreciate we drow.

Silly surfacers.

Sounds interesting, I look forward to checking it out!

I can see MAELD33.PCX fine, but before I got this newer and brighter monitor I often had the same trouble that hans describes now.

Looks all very promising!

The Drow looks fine on my old laptop even with lowest brightness...  :)

Wait wait, Maeldun is not a drow:) It's a human former paladin. I've tried to find some grimm looking, seasoned warrior with scar on his face. Using Character Editor I've created chaotic good paladin with some special skills, which are the result of his former life. But You are right, somke of my pictures might be too dark. Well, there is not much light in the Underdark I suppose.
